RAPTC Museum touring exhibition

The Museum has been looking for some time to find ways to extend its reach beyond our berth here on the Army School of Physical Training. To this end we are taking part in the Sporting Heritage and the Armed Forces project.

This is a two year collaboration between museums from the Sporting Heritage and Military museums networks that aims to deliver 20 online and touring exhibitions between 2018-20  You can find out more about the project here   http://ow.ly/iV1F30o98TJ

You can find here several articles that the RAPTC Museum has already submitted on Army rehabilitation and WW1 boxing. I am pleased to announce that the Museum has now been asked to take the lead in organising one of the touring exhibitions.

The theme of this will be on how sport prepares soldiers for the battlefield, looking at the ways that the strengths and skills used on the sports field have a practical application to the battlefield.

The exhibition will feature objects and images from a number of military and sporting museums and be displayed in each of them for a two week period later in the year, after a grand opening at the RAPTC Museum.

More details of the participating museums and dates for the exhibition will be released later, but it is likely to happen later on in 2019.
