Happy Christmas from the RAPTC Museum

Its been another successful year at the RAPTC Museum with many great achievements having improved the Museum.

We have held our special exhibition on Sport in the Army which was shown at 6 museums and community centres across the south of England. Our WW2 assault course diorama has also been completed and is now a centrepiece in the museum. We have also made great progress with our reorganisation of the Museum, with new sections included on Adventurous Training and Special Forces and the other displays being improved as well.

New ties have been made with local community groups which has seen local schools, cadets and scout groups coming on visits to the Museum to learn more about the history of the RAPTC and get a closer look at the collection. This has seen the museum visitor numbers increase for a second successive year.

Behind the scenes, the museum has completed its accreditation return which will hopefully mean we retain our official museum status from Arts Council England in 2020. We have also made great progress with the long running job of rehousing and re cataloguing the Museum reserve collection. The Museum building has also been improved.

In 2020 we will be looking to build on these accomplishments to create a more exciting and better connected museum. Look out here for news on our next projects in the New Year. Until then, the Museum wishes you a very Happy Christmas.
